NEED SPRING or EASTER FAVORS? You can make these in no time flat!

I made a tray of these for a neighbor's baby shower last week.
I punched out a piece of REGAL ROSE card stock wth the FANCY FLOWER PUNCH and used the GEL PEN to make the dots on the petals. I then stamped on WHISPER WHITE card stock the TRIPLE TREAT FLOWER in REGAL ROSE ink. The leaf was punched out of PEAR PIZZAZZ card stock using the BIRD BUILDER PUNCH. I layered the three pieces with GLUE DOTS and topped the flower with a Hershey Kiss.
To add a little dimension to the platter (see below) I made this little basket using a 6 x 6 piece of REGAL ROSE card stock and decorated the four sides. Then I made the topper using the SCALLOP CIRCLE and CIRCLE PUNCHES. These little baskets can be made and decorated for any occasion.
And here's the finished project.
I hope these projects have given you ideas for the upcoming Easter holiday! Thanks for joining me today.

I KNOW, I know...Valentines is over but

my computer is now fixed and I wanted to share with you a couple of things I made for Valentines.
Above is the treat I made for our granddaughter's teachers. I used the Big Shot, Hearts Collection Framelit Die, Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder and Rhinestone Jewels for the Heart. The flower is made using the Big Shot and Fun Flowers Die. The only request Laura had was the treat needed to have something to do with hearts with a Hershey Kiss on top. So the Kiss fit perfectly in the inside of the flower. You'll notice on the bottom right of the picture, I attached a box which was filled with chocolates. It was made using the Big Shot once again and the Box #2 Die which is retired.
And these treats (24 of them) were made for Laura's classmates.
The day before Valentines I had an appointment so I gave these to the receptionist to share with the staff. I couldn't resist putting in the bag a copy of the Occasions Mini Catalog.
And last but not least, here is the card I made for Laura. This card was shown at Leadership and I thought it was so sweet. This picture doesn't do it any justice.
When each heart was lifted up on the right side, I'd stamped a Valentine sentiment.
OK VALENTINES IS OVER. Be sure to visit again tomorrow as I will be showing you a box and matching cards that my Blue Bonnets Group made last week using the Mixed Bunches stamp set. Have a great day and thanks for your patience while my computer was down!

Stampin'Up! BEYOND THE GARDEN Designer Series Paper

Last night the Welcome Committee in our neighborhood got together to welcome 12 new residents. Below see the "chocolate treats" I made to put in the baskets. I was unable to attend so I left the treats at a neighbors house in my new THIRTY ONE insulated bag.

For the treats, I used BEYOND THE GARDEN DSP and chocolate chip card stock. I stamped "welcome to the neighborhood" in real red directly onto the DSP. I topped that with a red bow which made for a quick and easy treat. I slid my SU business card in the back of the sleeve in hopes that some of the new residents will be interested in stamping.
The reason I could not attend tonight's get together was that I went to "A Conversation with Dr. Maya Angelou" with my daughter, Shelley. Before going to see Dr. Angelou, we went to Ibiza for dinner. The presentation was lovely and the food was delicious.

Below Shelley and I are enjoying some adult conversation ~ kinda hard to do with the 7 year old granddaugther who is with us most of the time.

Then we were off to the "Conversaton with Dr. Maya Angelou" at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Houston (cameras were not permitted). Dr. Angelou's quote "when someone shows you who they are, believe them" changed Shelley's life back in the 90's so I'm so thankful she had this opportunity to see her up close and in person! I was so pleased that Shelley asked me to share the evening with her. Dr. Angelou opened the "conversation" with the song This Little Light of Mine, I'm Going to Let It Shine. She stressed the importance of being more than what you appear to be. Another thing Dr. Angelou pointed out .... COURAGE is not something you're born with, it's something that you have to develop. I had such a delightful evening sharing this experience with Shelley.

Until next time, I hope you will do something good for yourself and stamp daily!

Stampin'Up! Valentine Treat

VALENTINES IS JUST A WEEK AWAY ( minus a day and counting)
Have your started on your treats yet?
If not, here is a simple treat holder using a 5x3 3/4" piece of pink card stock and a 2 1/2x3 3/4" piece of black card stock. Oh, yes....don't forget the Ghirardelli chocolate.

Here's the inside.

Sorry about the writing but on "my samples", I write the dimensions so I don't have to measure everytime.

Have a great day; do something good for yourself ~ stamp daily!

Stampin'Up! WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD Treat

There's a committee in our neighborhood that prepares a Welcome Basket for new residents moving in.
Here is my contribution to the basket. Not knowing for sure how big the basket is I thought I'd start out small. I'm looking forward to helping to put the baskets together and delivering them later this week. What better way to get out and meet neighbors PLUS hopefully get a neighborhood stamping group started?

Have a great day and I hope you'll stop by again tomorrow.

Stampin'Up! HOT STUFF Valentine Treat

Good morning! Well here I am again bringing you something that I cased (copy and share everything) from a magazine. I used some leftover Island Oasis DSP along with Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Rose Red, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White card stock. Also used were three sizes of SU's circle punches.
It's amazing what you can come up with using scraps for these simple candy toppers.
Have a great Friday; look forward to seeing you over the weekend!

Stampin'Up! Pucker Up Candy Treat

I had seen something similar to this in a magazine and just happened upon this plastic container at the $ Store so thought I'd see what I could come up with. And here it is.....PUCKER UP.....Happy Valentine's Day! The container already had the pink felt and ribbon on top so pretty much all I did was make the topper.
I used the Tart and Tangy and Haute Couture (retired) stamp sets, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo cardstock and ink.
Just a reminder....SALE-A-BRATION is in full swing. See my Tuesday's post for all the details. I'd be happy to help you with any of your stamping needs.
Thanks for stopping by. Do something good for yourself; stamp daily!

Stampin'Up! Hershey Valentine Treat

Here's another Valentine Treat using the large Hershey bar. For some reason I'm stuck on MELON MAMBO and PRETTY IN PINK for Valentines instead of the traditional red. I used the Filled With Love stamp set, small Heart punch, Eyelet Border punch and Pretty In Pink taffeta ribbon.
This is just a closer look. Hope this gives you some ideas for the special people who will be receiving Valentine treats from you this year.

Valentine "Lollipop Flower"

DOESN'T THIS lollipop flower LOOK LIKE A CAMELLIA? I made it using Stampin'Up! 2 3/8" circle scallop punch and 20 cuts of red, pink and white tissue paper. A hole was punched in the middle of the alternating tissue sheets for a Dum Dum Sucker. I see these flowers being used for girly girl Valentine treats or nursing home favors.

Today I'm giving you just a peek at my Stampin'Up! storage room in our new house. The door (front and back) holds all of my SU punches.

My storage room has four shelves just the right size to hold all my miscellaneous SU goodies!

Believe it or not, I don't have all my spaced filled yet. I've still got some tweaking to do but everything is unpacked. Stay tuned tomorrow for another Valentine idea. Have a great day!

Stampin'Up! Valentine "POPS" Treats

I saw something similar to this in a magazine. They used it to hold Valentine pencils. We'll at Valentines I'm all about candy; forget the pencils. So I changed it up a bit.

Supplies you will need: Stampin'Up! Big Shot and Top Note Bigz Die,
2 3/8" scallop circle punch, 1 3/4 circle punch, variety of heart punches and ribbon (all from SU) and of course "Charms Valentine Pops" suckers. The DSP used is from the Pattern Stack Bolds Collection and for the cardstock I used Melon Mambo, Regal Rose and Whisper White. A quick and easy treat! If you have any questions, email me at shirley.mckay@ymail.com. Until later....take time to stamp something today!

Valentine "SMARTIE" Treats

My stamping idea today comes from my sister, Sue, back in the Carolinas. You've all seen the chapstick holders .... well Sue improvised and made a "smartie" holder. You know how kids love those. What a great idea for those upcoming Valentine events. Until later, be good to yourself and stamp daily!

PS: if you'd like dimensions for making, email me at my new email address, shirley.mckay@ymail.com. Thanks and have a great day!

Stampin'Up! Scallop Punches & Batty For You Stamp Set

Here are the Halloween treats I made for Laura's classmates. I used the Batty for You stamp set; Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock and black and white gingham ribbon (retired). The flat suckers were found at Rite Aid ~ their brand ~ 10 for 99 cents. A great deal if you're making a lot. It just so happened that Sue and Linda helped me with these. Every other week there's 6 of us that get together and stamp. We bring whatever we want to work on. Sue and Linda had finished what they were doing so they jumped in and helped me. It's surprising how fast you can make 30 of an item when there's more than you working on a project. I appreciated their help!

My sister, Sue, in the blue; my friend Linda in the white.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT SU's CLEARANCE RACK
See my post dated 10/5/10 for more details.

Stampin'Up! Batty for You

I can't believe today is October 1st....and it won't be long until Halloween!
Whether you're having a Halloween party or need an idea for your kids classmates, these are fast and easy to make. To make, you need flat suckers; 1 3/8" circle, 1 1/4" circle and 1 3/4" scallop punches, a bit of card stock and ribbon. I stuck the suckers in a vase filled with coffee beans to make them easier for you to see.
I hope this gives you some inspiration to get started on your Halloween treats.
Have a great Friday and I look forward to seeing you back here tomorrow.

Stampin'Up! Big Shot & Scallop Circle Die

Sue and I are off to Lucy's this morning for a camp. She requested that we make Christmas cards with her guests. So, I'm sharing with you today the favor that I made for the ladies.

I used the Big Shot and Scallop Circle Die and cut one piece of solid card stock and another piece of retired designer series paper. On the card stock, I taped a Ghirardelli Chocolate Square and then attached the designer series paper to the top of the chocolate square. To finish it off, I punched a piece of solid card stock using the Ornament Extra-Large punch and stamped "a very Merry Christmas to you", attached a small bow and there you have it.
Stay tuned tomorrow to see the card I made for Lucy's camp. Thank you for stopping by!

Stampin'Up! Mini Milk Carton & Box #2 Dies

Sue and I have a monthly camp later this week so last night I got busy and started making the favors for our guests. I made the milk cartons out of the Island Oasis designer series paper (117173) and the Mini Milk Carton Die (117310). They are filled with chocolates.
Then to give the ladies another idea, I made what I'll call a little tote, that holds four of the milk cartons. The tote is made using two of the #2 Box Dies (114518). Then I cut a piece of Old Olive card stock and adhered the two boxes on both sides of the card stock. The handle is made using the 1 3/4 x 7/8" Oval Large Punch (119855).
Have a great day and I hope you'll join me again tomorrow.

Stampin'Up! Easter Treats

On Sunday afternoon, Laura and I made Easter treats for her classmates and dance friends. Before leaving to go to TX, I cut out and stamped everything so all she had to do was color the bunnies, ducks and flowers and us put them together. It took most of the afternoon as she needed 42. She was glad when the project was finished but seemed so happy to be able to help me for once. Normally I make things and send to her for her to give to her friends.

I was able to find the pastel M&M's at Target in TX. The bags came from www.clearbags.com, item number B1X8 (1X8+flap crystal clear). From a 12.6 oz. bag of M&M's, you can make 15 of these by putting 25/bag.

I looked at 3 places in Mooresville this morning for the pastel M&M's and all three places were sold out. So for a Camp I'm having tonight, I'm using the traditional M&M's. I think they turned out pretty cute and kind of Eastery since I used the little duck.

All paper, ribbon, stamp and ink are SU!

VALENTINE TREAT BOX

You see these Valentine Treat Boxes in all the big stores and I thought I'd just CASE one. For those that don't know what CASE means, its "copy and steal everything". Well after making just this one I'm sure I won't be making very many of them. They are really cute but more time consuming than most things I've shared with you thus far. These are for those very special people in your life. Mine happens to be going to Laura in her box of treats that Ronnie is shipping to her tomorrow. As you know from previous posts, I made treats (46) for Laura's school classmates and dance friends. Check them out if you haven't seen them. They turned out really cute.

If you're interested in a copy of my template or have questions, please email me at shirleym@ctc.net.

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!!!

Our forecast for today calls for wintery weather beginning late this afternoon. With that in mind, I made these treats to take to the office staff where I have an appointment. You'll notice the inside sentiment says "let it snow". I'm hoping for some snow since it's coming over a weekend and most people will not have to go to work. Stay warm and safe!
