While at LEADERSHIP 2012, Donna Griffith

unveiled the DIAGONAL SCORING TOOL and made the cutest mini cards and envelopes. Donna then demonstrated a box made using the SALLOPED SQUARE BIGZ CLEAR DIE where the mini cards and envelopes fit perfectly.

Well "I DID IT MY WAY" and designed a little box to fit 3 x 3 cards and envelopes.
Donna and I both used the SPRINKLED EXPRESSIONS Sale-A-Bration stamp set. Other products used: Tiny Tags stamp set; Lucky Limeade, Riding Hood Red, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight card stock and Ink; Whisper White card stock; Twitterpated DSP, Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon; Linen Thread; Glimmer Brads; Bird Builder punch; Big Shot and Floral Fusion Sizzlit Die.
I hope this gives you some inspiration to ink up your stamps. Thanks for joining me and until next time, do something good for yourself and stamp daily!
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

Stampin'Up! HOLIDAY STOCKING Bigz L Die

BEST WISHES TO YOU AND YOURS FOR A HEALTHY & PROSPEROUS

I have one last Christmas idea to share with you today.....a money holder using the HOLIDAY STOCKING Bigz L Die featured in Stampin'Up!'s Holiday Mini Catalog. Our kids are at the age that we never know what to buy them so for the past few years we have given them money so they can purchase whatever they want. Below is the money holder I made for our son and SIL using Real Red card stock and Mocha Morning Specialty designer series paper.
Here's the one designed for our daughter using the Silver Glimmer Paper and Real Red card stock. (Note: the ribbon used for the bow is not Stampin'Up!)

In order for the "check" not to fall all the way into the foot of the stocking, I cut a piece of card stock and folded it in the middle (see below).

I folded the check and put it in the folded insert leaving about 1/4" of the insert showing at the top of the stocking so they could remove their money.

The HOLIDAY STOCKING die is on the "carryover list" which means you can still purchase it even though the Holiday Mini Catalog expires January 3rd. For more information, go to my SU website, shirleybmckay.stampinup.net or contact me by email, shirley.mckay@ymail.com.

We all make New Year Resolutions and here's one of mine for this year. In addition to sharing creative ideas with you, I plan to share some words of encouragement with each post I make. Thanks for joining me today and I hope to see you back again soon!

"And now let us welcome the New Year full of things that have never been." - Rainer Maria Rilke

"January, the month of new beginnings and cherished memories, beckons. Come, let winter weave her wondrous spell; cold, crisp, woolen-muffler days, long dark evenings of savory suppers, lively conversations, or solitary joys. Outside the temperature drops as the snow falls softly. All of nature is at peace. We should be, too. Draw hearthside. This is the month to dream, to look forward to the year ahead and the journey within." - Excerpt from SIMPLE ABUNDANCE by Sarah Ban Breathnach

Stampin'Up! PUNCHES

WOW .... I can't believe how long I've been away. Thanks for joining me today! I've got a lot of things to catch up on ~ most important and foremost, the 8th birthday of our one and only granddaughter. Below please see the birthday card I made for her special day. She is a girly girl so there can never be enough pink or bling. The bodice of the dress is made using the Round Tab punch, the neck is scooped out using the 1 1/4" Circle punch and the layers for the skirt are made using the Blossom Petals Builder punch. I used Vellum card stock, took a dauber and Pretty In Pink classic ink and tinted the petals for the skirt. I then layered the petals and added the Rhinestone Jewels for the bling.

Here's the inside of the card using the Easy Events stamp set featured on page 57 of the 2011/12 Idea Book & Catalog.

Well I just had to have a personalized stamp to use on the back of all her cards. See page 172 of the IB&C and order yours today.

OK, hope you won't get bored but just wanted to share some photos of her party. It was at .....

Laura and her guests had their hair done, makeup applied and fingernails polished.

Then they were off to change into their "diva" outfits. Laura is in black ~ next to one of her friends that's pointing to the screen at the other end of the room. The lights are about to go off, the disco light is about to come on and the music is about to begin. They are just before posing on the runway. Oh, they were something else but so cute!

So once the dancing was over, it was time to have cake and ice cream. Just love the decor in this place. Awesome!

And here's the gift bags you saw in an earlier post but didn't they look good? (even if I do say so myself)

OK, the cake and ice cream have been devoured and it's time now to ride around Katy in a limo. I'm a little envious being that I've never been in a limo. I'm old and she's only 8. What's wrong with this picture?

Thanks for allowing me to be a grandmother and sharing this wonderful occasion with you. I hope you'll check back tomorrow as I've got a few more things to share with you! Have a wonderful day. Do something good for yourself and stamp daily!

Stampin'Up! PROJECT CLASS (Part 3)

I love these purses made using the Big Shot and Top Note Die. These purses can be used as a gift card holder, they can be filled with candy or whatever small gift item you have. They make cute little Easter baskets. Once again I used the PLAY DATE designer series paper. The matching filler is made with Stampin'Up! coordinating card stock colors. Got to love how easy Stampin'Up! makes it for us.

Enjoy this day that the Lord hath made! Have a great day!
